1. Make ready your sawdust. If your sawdust has larger size than 5mm, it should be crushed by the hammer mill first. Then if the sawdust is too wet, you need to dry it to the moisture content of about 8-12% (Note: the moisture content can be tested by a moisture meter). If you only make pellets in small capacity, you can spread out the sawdust on the ground to let it dry by air.

2. Then start the pellet mill for sawdust and feed the sawdust into the pellet mill hopper evenly. The sawdust falls on the pellet mill die, and the rotating roller will press the sawdust and force it to go through die holes. The high pressure will make the pellets tight and the generated high heat will cause the lignin in the sawdust to melt and become adhesive. So the wood pellets made out have high density and smooth or even shining surface. (Before making pellets, remember to start the machine to grind it first by the mixture of sawdust and engine oil. And every day when finished production, also put the mixed grinding material into the pellet mill and let it fill in the pellet mill die holes. This process can prevent hole blockage and rustiness.)

3. Cool the hot sawdust pellets to room temperature. The pellets just come out from the pellet mill are very hot. So they must be cooled to room temperature before using or storing.
